Good Shepherd Christian Junior school

Was founded in 2005 as a Christian home mission work. In rented premises, since the first year (2005) with 36 students, we have grown to a school serving over 101 children in grades of Baby, and Top classes for nursery section and Primary one –primary six currently, including 1 child in Concept Help, a program designed to assist children with specific learning disabilities and other challenges that prevent them from functioning in our regular program. We have maintained our identity through the years as an interdenominational Christ-centered school that now serves over several families, representing more than 10 churches, from several Christian denominations.

We pray that our school produces a boy or girl who has the mind of Christ. The child must first be ‘in Christ.’  Therefore, the salvation of each child is of prime importance. Christ’s ambition was to do the will of His Father. Thus the chief spiritual goal of the school is: to produce the boy or girl who wants to please his heavenly Father by being directly in the center of His will; a boy or girl who is daily walking, by faith, in the Holy Spirit.”   This continues to be the primary focus of this ministry.

We are excited to teach the kids of this centre and community in a fun interactive way about God. At our school, we look for ways to teach kids solid morals and help them develop a strong belief in who they are and who they want to be. If your kids are looking for a fun, safe place to play, learn, be challenged and develop life-long relationships then we welcome you to come and hang out with us at GOOD SHEPHERD CHILD CARE CENTRE as volunteer, tourist, minister, and evangelist, teacher or any other service provider.

The objectives of the school are centered on five basic character builders:

A. To establish CHRISTIAN TRUTH as a guide for life in:

1. Understanding that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe, through which His eternal power and His divine nature are clearly seen by man. (Nehemiah 9:6 KJV)
2. Acceptance that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the only authority for faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16, 17)
3. Knowledge that all men are sinners and can have salvation only through personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. (Titus 3:5, 6)
4. Development (after coming to know Christ) of a consistent Christian life through prayer and daily Bible study. (I Peter 2:2)
5. Desire to invest one's life in Christian service to the glory of God. (Colossians 1:9, 10)

B. To maintain a HIGH ACADEMIC STANDARD through:

1. Mastery of the skills of communication (writing, reading, speaking) and math so thoroughly that the student will be prepared to acquire further knowledge without hindrance. (Colossians 3:23)
2. Desire to work at maximum ability. (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
3. Ability to discern truth from error. (I John 4:6)

C. To instill PURE MORALS in the heart of the children and teachers by:

1. Development of an appreciation for the values accrued from our past spiritual and cultural heritage. (Psalm 61:5)
2. Inculcation of the desire to choose right over wrong and to hold to one's convictions under pressure. (Daniel 1:8)

D. To generate a SPIRIT OF PATRIOTISM by teaching:

1. Loyalty to our country and recognition of unscriptural teachings which undermine our country's foundations. (I Peter 2:13-17)
2. Recognition of government as God-ordained. (Romans 13:1)
3. The need to become involved citizens of this nation for the Lord's sake. (Acts 13:36a)

E. To live a DISCIPLINED LIFE by attempting to practice:

1. Submission to the Holy Spirit who conforms us to the image of Christ. (Romans 8:9, 10)
2. Self-restraint and consideration of others. (I Corinthians 9:25, 27)
3. Submission to the legitimate authorities with full cooperation and, if directed by God, to become a strong, gracious leader. (Titus 3:1, Joshua 1:9)
